Retirement is one of life’s most important economic and lifestyle decisions. Everyone’s situation, plans, dreams and expectations are unique and, like almost every important decision, there is no right answer for everyone. To be sure you find the right answer for you, take the time to consider all the factors and get all the information and advice you need.

Teachers who began teaching in Saskatchewan prior to July 1, 1980 are members of the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Superannuation Plan (STSP).

Teachers who began teaching after June 30, 1980, or transferred from the STSP prior to July 1, 1991, are members of the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Retirement Plan (STRP).

If you’re not sure to which plan you belong, contact either plan office.

This section will provide you with information about the retirement application process for both the STSP and STRP. Information about health and dental benefits is also available.

Pre-Retirement Seminars

If you are retiring in the near future, think about attending an STF Pre-Retirement Seminar. Feel free to bring your spouse, partner or a guest. Pre-registration is required if you wish to have a pension estimate prepared for distribution at the meeting. Seminar dates are published in the Saskatchewan Bulletin or by your local association and also posted on this website. For more information about the seminars, please contact the Member Services department at the STF office.
