Awards, Grants & Scholarships

The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation, its affiliates and its educational partners offer a variety of awards, scholarships and prizes for which teachers and/or education students may apply. Application criteria and deadline dates vary and are determined by the presenting organization.

Arbos Award

Presented by the STF to individuals who make outstanding contributions to education and bring honour to the teaching profession.

Kirkpatrick Travel Award

Presented by The Kirkpatrick Travel Fund to enable recipients to visit, for up to one week, an educational project or program related to their duties or field of interest.

McDowell Foundation

The Dr. Stirling McDowell Foundation funds teacher-oriented research into education and presents the McDowell Foundation Award annually to individuals who have made contributions to the Foundation and/or educational research as a builder, researcher or a supporter.

Michael C. Sifton Memorial Scholarship Fund Inc.

$1,000 scholarships presented by Michael C. Sifton Memorial Scholarship Fund to individuals intending to further their educational development.

School Yearbook and Newspaper Competitions

All Saskatchewan schools are invited to enter the annual School Yearbook Competition and/or the School Newspaper Competition sponsored by the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation, the Saskatoon StarPhoenix and the Regina LeaderPost.

Special Subject Council Awards

Bursaries, awards and scholarships presented by numerous special subject councils.

Wray Wylie Scholarships

Awarded by the STF to a Saskatchewan teacher or teachers who wish to study the management of learning resource centres in schools.
