Counselling & Wellness

Teachers may have illness or injuries at one time or another that may make daily living and working difficult. For many, these can be dealt with independently by thinking them over alone or by talking with family or friends. When problems persist despite your efforts, the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation counsellors can help. The Federation believes that teachers should have easy access to help for the problems of everyday living and to ease the stresses associated with change and challenges of balancing work and family life.

Funded by the Income Continuance Plan (ICP), the STF provides confidential counselling and wellness services to teachers on contract or in receipt of disability benefits from ICP. These services are helpful to teachers at many different times, such as when having difficulty coping with stress, facing personal, financial, marital or family problems, managing pain, experiencing emotional trauma, experiencing problems from substance abuse or compulsive disorders, considering career options or other issues of a personal nature.
