Accreditation Seminars

Initial and Renewal/Second

Accreditation Seminars are offered to enable qualified teachers to become accredited. Accreditation is the process by which qualified teachers are granted the responsibility of determining the final mark or standing of the students in a specified Grade XII (level 30) subject or subjects.

The goals for the initial and renewal/second seminars is that teachers will enhance, extend and challenge their professional experience. The specific objectives include:

  • Supporting the implementation of the evaluation principles expressed by the Saskatchewan Core Curriculum.
  • Exploring a variety of instructional strategies.
  • Developing skills and competencies in evaluation.
  • Exploring ways of integrating curriculum, instruction and evaluation in planning and learning experiences.
  • Reviewing the accreditation policies and guidelines of the Ministry of Education and the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation.

The format for all seminars involves a combination of formal presentations, sharing among participants in small groups, and encourages individual development of ongoing plans for renewal.
