Beginning Teachers
Welcome to the Teaching Profession!
Teaching is often referred to as a noble career – to choose to work with children and youth, to aspire to nurture and challenge young minds, and to believe in the power and potential of youth is, indeed, noble.
Becoming a teacher is like beginning a journey. Every new teacher has a different point of departure and a different destination in mind when the journey begins, but there are many similar challenges along the way. The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (STF) is here to assist beginning teachers as they face these challenges and grow professionally throughout their careers. It is the hope of the STF that your journey toward professionalism will be lifelong, productive, challenging and rewarding.
Starting Out
Starting any endeavour can be daunting, but when beginning your career in the classroom you will need a lot more information, tools and resources to help you navigate your way than you could ever imagine or anticipate. Through ongoing feedback from beginning teachers and their colleagues, the STF has created a program for beginning teachers that can help ease your way.
