We are pleased to announce that the STF is hosting the Educational Accountability Forum – Teacher Voice in Accountability Issues. The STF is extending an invitation to each local association to send a total of three representatives:
- The local association president (or delegate from the local association executive).
- Two local association representatives (locals greater than 1500 members may send up to four representatives).
Purposes:
- To review the consultation paper from the Provincial Panel on Student Achievement (Building for Student Success) and to contribute to the organizational response to that paper.
- To learn about the results of the recent McDowell Foundation research on teachers’ perceptions of assessment (Student Assessment for Teaching and Learning: Teacher Perceptions and Practices) and to consider the implications of the findings on teachers’ work.
To best address these purposes, we suggest that local associations select representatives to attend the forum. Teachers who wish to attend the forum will be requested to indicate their interest to local association presidents for consideration. This forum builds on and extends topics that were explored in the May 2009 Educational Accountability Forum.
There is no registration fee for STF members. Expenses to attend this forum will be covered in accordance with the current STF Member Expense Reimbursement policy (accommodation, travel costs and substitute costs as required).
