Getting Involved

The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (STF) was formed over 75 years ago to bring together the collective voice of teachers into a single professional organization that would serve and represent members in a manner that would improve teaching conditions, promote professional growth and ensure economic welfare. Today, the Federation remains true to its original purposes and continues to be a member-led, member-driven and member-representative organization.

Teacher Volunteers Needed for CTF National Polling

The Canadian Teachers’ Federation (CTF) will be hosting an online polling of 1,000 teachers nationally on issues related to the teaching profession, children and youth, teaching and learning conditions and social justice. The polling will take place over a 12- to 18-month period, no more than once a month.  Each poll will contain one to three questions. The STF has been asked to provide 150 names of Saskatchewan teachers who are willing to participate.

Teachers interested in expressing their opinions in this national polling should forward their name, years of teaching experience, current teaching assignment, location, and e-mail address (preferably not a school e-mail address) to isobel.tamney@stf.sk.ca by October 15, 2009.

Should the STF receive more than 150 volunteers, a selection process will be undertaken to obtain a group representative of Saskatchewan teachers based on teaching experience, assignment and location.

This is an opportunity for Saskatchewan teachers to have their voice heard nationally, so please consider putting your name forward.
