Welcome back everyone!
The first few weeks of the new school year are behind us and memories of “summer vacation” are fading quickly. This is a time of renewal of your commitment to enhancing the quality of the lives of the thousands of students in our province. Here at the building at 2317 Arlington, our staff also see this as a time of renewal as we move forward with a full schedule of programs and services that are intended to support you in your role as a classroom teacher.
I would invite you to familiarize yourself with the benefits and services that are available to you through each of our benefit plans (pension plan, disability plan, health plan) as well as through all of the additional professional supports (special subject councils, conferences and workshops to name just a few). Should you require individual support and advice, please contact the Administrative Staff member that serves as a liaison with your local association.
This summer we welcomed two new members to our Administrative Staff: Kevin Schmidt and Leanne White. Kevin is the liaison with the Tri-West local and Leanne is the liaison with Chinook. In addition to the information, advice and support that our Administrative Staff offer to locals and to individual teacher members, they, as well as others from our general staff, serve on numerous internal project teams that implement the STF Strategic Plan.
