Democracy Boot Camp (Regina)

CIVIX, in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation and Elections Canada, are pleased to announce an exciting professional development opportunity for Saskatchewan teachers in April.

If you have ever thought about organizing a Student Vote, or are planning to deliver the parallel election program alongside the October 2019 federal election, this opportunity is for you.

Democracy boot camp will feature experts and journalists sharing their insights on politics and the upcoming federal election, as well as discussions about best practices for a Student Vote. There will also be a special focus on the threat of mis- and disinformation and tools for teaching information literacy skills in the digital age. This is a rare and valuable learning experience.

These events will be taking place across Canada and we’re happy to announce two of these boot camps are taking place in Saskatchewan in April.

Note: There will be a reception following the April 4 democracy boot camp.
