Abstract: 

Research-based evidence and practical strategies are presented for how to create a culture of positive mental health in the classroom. The author’s Well Aware model incorporates whole-school, whole community approaches, as well as ideas from strengths-based, social-emotional and resiliency approaches. Ideas for fostering teacher well-being are also included.
