In Case You Missed It: Physio and Hearing Aid Coverage Has Increased

In case you didn’t notice it in our last newsletter, your coverage has increased! Following a health plan design review, the Pension and Benefits Board of Directors approved the following benefit changes to the Members’ Health Plan effective January 1, 2023:

• Physiotherapy coverage has doubled. Members are now covered at 100 percent to a maximum of $1,000 per calendar year per person for physiotherapy. The benefit was previously covered at 80 percent to a maximum of $500 per calendar year.
• Coverage for hearing aids has more than doubled. Coverage increased from $1,200 to $2,500 every four years. The benefit is covered at 80 percent.
