Languages Frameworks Call for Writers

February 3, 2022

The Ministry of Education invites teachers and personnel from school divisions and First Nations education authorities to be involved in the development of two language frameworks that will support locally determined language options at the elementary level, by participating in writing groups. The groups will meet for approximately three days before the end of the 2021-22 school year.

  • Elementary Language Framework
  • Métis and First Nations Language Framework

The Ministry of Education will reimburse substitute costs. For the time being, the ministry is planning for online meetings. Should an in-person meeting be held, meals, travel and accommodation (if traveling more than three hours) will also be covered at approved government rates. The ministry will provide a payment of $300 per day should this work proceed outside of regular school hours.

This work aligns with Inspiring Success: First Nations and Métis PreK-12 Education Policy Framework, in which the Ministry of Education commits to working collaboratively with all educational partners to strengthen relationships and achieve an equitable and inclusive system that benefits all learners.
