Numeracy in Nature: Math Outside the Box

Step outside the classroom and into the world of outdoor math adventures! This interactive workshop empowers educators to transform their natural surroundings into learning spaces where math comes to life. Explore how to teach essential numeracy skills through hands-on activities that get students moving and thinking. Get ready to inspire curiosity, creativity, and mathematical discovery—outside the box! 

Learning Outcomes: 

• Deepen understanding of how natural environments can function as dynamic learning spaces.  

• Explore engaging, outdoor math activities that support numeracy development in K-Grade 3 students. 

Audience: Kindergarten – Grade 3  

Workshop Cost: (includes GST, materials and lunch)

• Early Bird: $150 - Available for registrations received 10 business days prior to the workshop date.
• Standard: $175

Refund Policy: The refund deadline for workshops is five business days prior to the start date. Refunds for Asynchronous courses will not be provided once online course materials are accessed. Registrants who withdraw prior to the refund deadline are entitled to a full refund or transfer of their registration fee. Refunds are provided to the registrant or the organization that submitted payment. 

If notification of withdrawal is received after the refund deadline and up to the commencement of the session, 50 percent of the registration fee will be refunded. 

Cancellation Policy: Occasionally, due to circumstances beyond our control, a workshop may be cancelled. We will notify you by email using the address provided at registration. To ensure you receive any updates, please check your email regularly during the 48 hours leading up to the workshop start date.   

If a cancellation occurs, a full refund will be issued to the registrant or the organization that covered the registration fee. 

Photographs may be taken during the workshop for promotional and publication purposes. If you do not consent to the use of your image, please inform us in advance.
