Indigenous Languages Policy Working Committee

Eight members required – Two‐year term
The STF is inviting members to apply to be part of a Working Committee that will investigate the changing trends, beliefs and challenges that impact teachers of Indigenous languages in Saskatchewan.
The Committee will meet two to four times over the course of two years beginning fall of 2026.
The Committee responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing STF policy and recommending changes as required.
- Providing recommendations regarding Federation programs and services to support teachers of Indigenous languages.
Indigenous-language speakers, language learners and those with experience and understanding of the issues faced by Indigenous-language teachers are encouraged to apply. Applicants are also welcome to identify their language group and/or dialect to help ensure representation of diverse languages on the Committee.

Additional Information
As per Clause 12.3.2 of the 2023-2026 Provincial Collective Bargaining Agreement, teachers serving on STF committees will be granted leave without loss of salary and benefits for any days required to fulfil their duties.
The STF encourages all members to participate in our organizational operations. Preference will be given to those not currently holding other positions, but all members are welcome to apply for multiple openings.
