The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation is launching a provincewide advocacy campaign encouraging supporters of public education to contact MLAs following the release of Budget 2026. After two years of beginning to make progress towards restoring per-student funding, Budget 2026 will result in per-student funding being reduced by $33.

Government of Saskatchewan’s 2026 provincial budget includes a 2.6 percent increase to operational funding for school divisions, which does not keep pace with projected inflation or enrolment. Effectively, this amounts to a cut. As a result, per-student funding is expected to decline by $33 per student compared to last year.
