Life Insurance

There are two life insurance plans available to Saskatchewan teachers, the Teachers’ Group Life Insurance plan and Portaplan, which is the STF’s Optional Life Insurance plan.

The Teachers’ Group Life Insurance plan is negotiated through the provincial collective bargaining process and participation in this plan is mandatory.

Portaplan is a voluntary life insurance plan that allows teachers and their eligible family members to purchase additional life insurance at competitive rates. Portaplan insurance is also an affordable alternative to traditional mortgage insurance.
